Found a great deal on an Old Town Pack after a good few months (around 9 or so), been wanting one of these for ages now as it ticks so many boxes for me; fits in the garage, light enough to handle myself... Can't wait to get it up here so I can start going out whenever the weather lets me, and Ollie trying out his new paddle too.
Whether we decide to get rid of the Disovery 158 or not is still up in the air, keep chopping and changing as it would be nice to finish the Great Glen at least with Michael in the canoe. And it would mean we could start going with Chris as well, if we can talk him in to it!!
Looking at places to take the Pack out for it's maiden voyage, looked at East to West of Ireland more as a 2012 trip but more research showed it was around 200 miles so possibly a bit ambitous. For first trips I'm looking at somewhere across in the Lakes, maybe from Derwentwater down and round to the coast; 40 odd miles or so. Or could just run it up to Bolam Lake with Oliver which would be kind of nice going out with him first.
